The boat uses twin Riva Thermo Electron V8 engines producing 350 horsepower each. Both engines underwent full disassembly, rebuilding, and repainting. They now have zero hours since the rebuild, ensuring reliable performance and original specifications.

Carefully Maintained Ownership

This is a third-owner boat, acquired in 1993. The current owner stored it covered in a Lake Maggiore boatyard. The boat launched only occasionally for weekend use. After each outing, the owner hauled it out and stored it properly.

Comprehensive Restoration (2023–2025)

From fall 2023 to August 2025, the boat underwent a full professional restoration. First, workers stripped the hull completely to bare wood. Next, they repaired fairing and overhauled the bottom. Finally, craftsmen applied 33 coats of varnish, creating a deep mirror-like shine.

Exterior & Mechanical Upgrades

Technicians re-plated most chrome hardware, including cleats, fairleads, and trim profiles. They also cleaned and coated the bilges with waterproof anti-mould protection. Fuel tanks received a thorough cleaning and pressure testing. Float switches and resistors underwent careful inspection.

Interior Refreshed

The cockpit interior received a complete refresh while preserving classic Riva character. Workers redid all upholstery and installed new flooring combining tapestry and wood. They added a new sprayhood with storage bag, overhauled the instruments, and checked the electrical system.

Authentic Riva Heritage Details

The boat keeps several classic Riva features, including the original “old-style” chrome hardware, vintage steering wheel, and ship siren. These authentic elements preserve the timeless elegance of a true Aquarama Special.
